Counselors FAQs
-
American summer camps are residential camps where children spend anywhere from one to eight weeks enjoying outdoor adventures, sports, creative activities, and personal development. Camps are located throughout the United States, from beautiful lakes in Wisconsin and forests in New England to mountains in Colorado and waterfront camps on the East Coast.
As a camp counselor or activity specialist, you'll become part of a close-knit community where you'll mentor children, teach activities, organise games, support evening events, and help create an incredible summer experience. Every day is different, making it one of the most exciting and rewarding jobs available to students and young adults.

To work at camp you need to be 18 years of age

Camp counselors guide and ensure the safety of children as they engage in camp activities. They assist in the activity planning process, receive special training to fully support children, and lead them as they participate in camp events.
